with Ron Fonk of Woodfield Homes. Ron displayed honesty,
professionalism, financial integrity, and flexibility throughout our
entire experience. He listens well, returns phone calls (a lost
art in the 21st Century), and really encouraged our input and
participation in the building process. If/when we ever build
another home we would definitely choose Ron Fonk and Woodfield Homes.

I decided to take a few minutes to write your
company a letter to let you know how much my wife and I appreciate the
services Woodfield Homes provided for us over the last year or so.
We received an offer from
my company to relocate from Charlotte, NC to Louisville, KY in May of
2003. After visiting the area and determining to accept the relocation
offer we began the tedious task of looking for an area of the city we
were interested in living and the even more tedious task of finding a
home builder we could trust in a city where we knew nobody. After
receiving a recommendation to take a look at Woodfield Homes from a
member of the church we were visiting and another recommendation for a
different builder from a coworker at my office, we asked each builder to
provide bids for the house that we wanted to build. Ron Fonk (Woodfield
Homes) provided a very detailed bid for our house that included every
option I requested and even some recommendations that he thought might
be of interest to us. The other builder we requested a bid from was also
very helpful but the level of detail and commitment we sensed from
Woodfield Homes eventually led us to select them as our builder in
August of 2003. I would soon come to appreciate what a great decision we
made by selecting Ron as our builder.
Within a few weeks Ron had
acquired all the required paperwork and permits to break ground on our
house and immediately began construction. From my previous experience
with building a house in Charlotte, I expected that it would be
necessary to visit our home on a daily basis to ensure that the work was
being completed correctly. I visited our lot almost every day while the
house was under construction to verify things were looking correct and
much to my amazement within the first month or so I quickly realized
that we were not dealing with a typical home builder. Many times when I
would show up to inspect the progress someone from Woodfield Homes would
already be onsite watching the subcontractors complete their tasks. On
the rare occasion that I did find something that wasn’t quite perfect,
Ron would already know about the issue when I called and had already
instructed the subcontractor to repair the item in question. My visits
to the construction site soon changed from my initial stance of looking
for problems to just going to enjoy looking at the great quality of the
home that was being built for us.
When we contracted with
Woodfield Homes, we requested that the construction take exactly six
months to complete since we had a six month lease on an apartment and
did not want to extend the lease or pay for both the lease and a house
payment. We closed on our beautiful new home in January of 2004 on the
exact date that we requested. Ron even slowed down the final phase of
construction slightly to ensure that we could close exactly when we
wanted to. I can honestly say that I have never dealt with a business
that I was more impressed with than I have been with Woodfield Homes. We
have been in our home for almost a year now and have had absolutely no
major issues to deal with. From the time we first began talking with Ron
about building the house until today, he has never asked us to pay a
dime more than the price we agreed upon, never once complained about
repairing any issue we brought to his attention, and has constantly
acted in a professional manner that reflects positively on him as a
person and Woodfield Homes as a company. I am not only comfortable
recommending Woodfield Homes to everyone I come in contact with, but am
actually enthusiastic about being able to help someone else have as
wonderful of a home building experience as we had! Because of the
extremely high level of quality and customer satisfaction that has been
provided to us by Ron and Woodfield homes, I invite you to send any
prospective clients that are interested in evaluating you as a builder
to our home to view for themselves the high quality product your company
produces. I will be more than happy to personally discuss our experience
with anyone who is interested in using you as their builder. Thank you

On April 23, 2000, our family
moved to the Louisville, Kentucky area. Long before we arrived in
Kentucky, we decided to build our next home. Aside from a previous trip
to visit the area, we had no idea what to expect in the way of
construction, floor plans and most importantly builders.
Page forward a few months. After
interviewing approximately seven builders, we decided to enter into a
contract with Ron Fonk of Woodfield Homes, Inc. What most impressed us
about Mr. Fonk was his sincere attention to our concerns relating to
maintaining budgetary parameters. Mr. Fonk scheduled a meeting at our
convenience and put our minds at ease by patiently breaking down every
financial aspect of the building process.
While our home was under construction, we
were pleasantly surprised to receive telephone calls from Mr. Fonk
reporting the progress of the construction. Mr. Fonk actually took the
initiative on at least six occasions to schedule meetings with us at the
construction site to answer questions, make suggestions and address
concerns. These meetings eliminated a huge amount of discomfort and
stress associated with building a home. Mr. Fonk went out of his way to
make himself available at our convenience.
We moved into our Woodfield home at the
end of February 2000, and are extremely happy with its quality and
beauty. My wife and I have said time and again, “there is nothing we
would have done differently.” Our family and friends agree.
Thank you Mr. Fonk for your
professionalism and true attention to detail. We are proud to say we
own a Woodfield home!
